Transcription
I charge an hourly rate, and the usual estimate is that it can take between 3.5 and 4.5 hours of work to transcribe 60 minutes of audio. Rush rates may apply for tight deadlines.
Did you know: Looking at the number of audio minutes is too simplistic when trying to assess the workload for transcription. Other factors to consider are clarity of audio and ambient noise levels, number of people participating, speed and clarity of speech, etc. The average word count for 60 minutes audio is 8,500 but the range extends from 6,000 to 12,000 words! For all these reasons, a per-hour-of-work rate has become my favourite to work with over the years but if you prefer a per-minute-audio rate, let me know and I will provide you with a quote that matches your preference.
Translation
From English to French, and French to English, starting with a text document or an audio file, I can do it all. I can even start with an audio file in one language and produce the translated text document for you with what I call translation+transcription in one step. The rate depends on what you need and your timeline.
